Weight Loss Journey: Week 1

I never thought I’d be writing about this, but here I am. I’ve always been the tall, skinny girl. I was always able to eat whatever whenever, and not gain a pound. Life happened, kids were born, and now here I am wearing a XL t-shirt and leggings because I can’t fit my jeans anymore.

I’ll be the first to admit that my diet is trash. I’ve been able to get away with eating horribly for so long that trying to break bad habits now is a struggle. There is a lot of processed/pre-cooked food in my pantry and refrigerator right now. I also don’t like to exercise, so there’s that. I’m basically starting this journey in the red.

Weight loss journey

Right now, I’m 5’9 (5’8 1/4) and 206 lbs.I don’t necessarily look over 200 lbs, but I definitely feel over 200 lbs. Most of my weight is in my upper area. My boobs, arms, and shoulders could definitely use some toning. My goal is to get down to 180 lbs by the end of summer. While I mentioned being skinny before, skinny is not the goal. I just want to be healthy, and comfortable in my own skin again.

I’ve been following Taralynn Mcnitt’s story for 7 years now. She’s actually one of the bloggers who inspired me to start my own blog. I’ve been looking to her blog for workout/meal planning ideas, so far she’s been a big help. I’ve also been on Pinterest a lot. I’ve found a few at home workouts that are indeed bomb AF, and I’m just excited to get the ball rolling.
