Anyone who knows me knows that I am a bit of a product junkie. I’m always looking for new products to try on my natural hair. Lately, I’ve been fighting with my daughter’s hair. Products that we have used for YEARS are no longer getting the job done.

When I heard about the Dove Thickening Rituals line, I had to give it a try. As a naturalista, I’m all about volume and fullness so this was right up my alley. I packed up the minions on a quest to our local Wal-Mart. Three stores later, we found just what we were looking for. The Dove Thickening Ritual Shampoo and The Dove Thickening Ritual Conditioner.
The Girls loved the packaging because it was easy for them to hold on their own. I was hoping they would keep that same energy when it was time to get their hair shampooed. I should’ve known better. When we got home, it was time to put our new hair products to use. I sectioned Aubrey’s hair into four sections, so that it would be easier to get to her scalp. I started with the Dove Thickening Ritual Shampoo. The first thing I noticed was the smell. This stuff smells AMAZING! It has a blend of Lavender oil and Rosemary to nourish the hair and add volume and fullness. I’ve always loved the smell of Lavender and this shampoo didn’t disappoint. I applied the shampoo to each section of Aubrey’s hair and massaged it into her scalp.
I shampooed her hair twice, before I went in with the Dove Thickening Ritual Conditioner. I usually use conditioner to detangle and was skeptical about using it this time. Surprisingly, I was able to do so with the Dove conditioner without pulling Aubrey’s hair out. Once I conditioned and detangled her hair, it was time to style it. On our trip to Wal-Mart, we also picked up the Dove Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo. With school being out, Aubrey is pretty active these days and hairstyles don’t last as long as they usually do. The dry shampoo really saved her twistout this week. She’s been outside playing all day and her hair was a hot sweaty mess. Not only does the Dove Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo smell good, it also absorbs excess oils in the hair. Aubrey’s hair was good as new after a few sprays and should last until her next wash day.
You can find the Dove Thickening Ritual Shampoo, Conditioner and the Dove Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo at your local Wal-Mart! You can also click the links to order online at Walmart.com. I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
