Today is your birthday, and I am an emotional wreck. I cannot believe that you are FOUR already. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was walking into the hospital to have you. These last four years have been nothing short of amazing . You are every bit of your mother’s child and I love every bit of it. From the way you pout when you’re angry, to your quick and witty commentary. You are by far the coolest four year old I know! After sissy was born, I wasn’t sure that I’d ever love anyone else as much, but here you are. My confident, intelligent, and gorgeous baby girl. Last year, your favorite song was Jordin Spark’s Walking On Snow, and now it’s Demi Lovato’s Sorry Not Sorry. Pink is still your favorite color and sissy is still your favorite person. You don’t know what you want to be when you grow up yet, but the sky’s the limit baby girl. Know that no matter how old you get, you will always be mommy’s baby. If I could have one wish on today, it would be for you to know how truly wonderful you are. I’ve never witnessed a tiny human light up a room the way you do. I pray that as you get older, you continue to let your light shine. I want you to know that no matter what, mommy and daddy love you so much. We’ll always work together to be the best parents for you because you deserve nothing but the best. Here’s to you, on your special day. May you have many many many more!!

Welp. It’s certainly hard to type with watery eyes. This is what got me – “I pray that as you get older, you continue to let your light shine” – I just want to put that on a plaque and hang it in my daughter’s room. What a serious job we mothers to little women have – making sure no one turns out that light. I wish you success but somehow get the feeling you won’t need any help keeping that light on. She looks like she threw out the switch. 🙂
